During the year, Gondwana entered into an agreement to form a joint venture with Hong Kong-based partners to identify and acquire mining interests in China and elsewhere. It is proposed that Gondwana will hold a 70% interest in the joint venture.

Gondwana is actively reviewing project opportunities in China
To date, Gondwana has examined a wide range of opportunities in China, including Inner Mongolia, which may be suitable for acquisition by the proposed joint venture. A field trip was conducted in May 2008 to investigate a copper-lead-zinc-silver prospect in China. The local owners have reported non-JORC mineralization within their exploration license area and, if the results of the preliminary field work and due diligence are positive, Gondwana proposes to enter into a farm in agreement to explore and develop the prospect.

Other prospects currently the subject of enquiry or evaluation by the Company include a copper prospect in Zambia, a uranium prospect in Outer Mongolia and other prospects at an early stage of data compilation in China and Indonesia.
